Two scholarship girls reunite in Italy – Le Yen Linh and Nguyen Bao Linh

BUV fosters lifelong connections among people who share a passion for life. Even as alumni grow up and get busy, their meaningful bonds endure.
That’s the story of Bao Linh and Yen Linh, two BUV alumni who reconnected in Florence, Italy after 5 years. Bao Linh was a student in 1610TM, and Yen Linh was in 1610IBM. Two girls met at our scholarship awarding ceremony of the HRH Prince Andrew Scholarship (now known as the British Ambassador Scholarship).
After graduation, Bao Linh went to study in Europe and now working as a Project Manager in Florence, Italy. Yen Linh started her path at Generali Vietnam as a management trainee and is currently on an international assignment with Generali Group’s headquarters in Milan, Italy.
Sharing about this friendship, Bao Linh said:
“Not seeing each other for 5 years after graduation, I didn’t expect to reunite in Italy in the city where I am living and working now, Florence. I had fun showing Yen Linh around and meeting my friends in the city. We had very different paths after graduation, but now our path crosses again as both working and living in Italy (life has a way of surprising us)”
When asked about the reasons why those two stay so close together, Bao Linh said:
“I think it’s because Yen Linh and I share similar traits – we’re both self-driven, ambitious, and hardworking
It is not the kind of friendship that catches up all the time because we are both very busy and spending time investing in our lives. But always be there for each other when needed support. Whenever I reach out to Yen Linh for anything, she always tries her best to help me, whether it’s providing insights, and perspectives on things or creating connections that help me achieve certain goals,… And she knows I do the same for her.”
Though 5 years may not seem long, it can forge connections that last a lifetime.
Hearing our alumni’s friendship stories makes us feel so proud of this one-in-a-lifetime friendship.
