When asked about her will to change her career to illustrator, she said:
️“I was curious about the creative industry, but I was not clear how I wanted to be a part of it. When I had to choose a career, marketing seemed like a good starting point. Plus, I have always loved watching commercials and discovering aisles of supermarkets, being amazed by the diverse products displayed creatively.
After exploring different marketing positions, I realized it wasn’t quite the right fit for my creative spirit. Thus, I explored other avenues, joining design and illustration classes, and landed some first illustration jobs. Though I was still learning the ropes, my colleagues were incredibly supportive, and I am forever grateful as they helped me lay the foundation for where I am today.”
Transitioning into a new field is rarely easy. Nga also experienced ups and downs too, and got supported from many precious friends. She said:
“My transition wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were many times self-doubt crept in – wondering if I made the right move, questioning my skills compared to established artists, fearing unseen challenges ahead. But I was lucky to meet amazing people who reminded me that everyone starts somewhere, and that progress takes time. I was not alone. And most importantly, I had myself – the me who doesn’t give up easily and always keeps going even when feeling discouraged.”

“I remember when my long-term client expressed her appreciation. She mentioned how she felt fortunate to have found a reliable and professional artist to work with, and hoped we could continue our collaboration on future projects. It made one of my most memorable moments when working with clients.
So, if you have favorite artists, show them your gratitude, kind words can go a long way.”
